In February there was a multi-sport competition called the Speights Coast to Coast where competitors literally go from the west coast of the south island to the east coast. The finish line was down at Sumner beach.

And Jackson sporting his tourist hat as well. We are surprised how many Kiwi do not wear hats. With the almost non-existent ozone layer and the intense UV rays, we thought hats would be much more popular.
